Neighborhood Concept Designs
In the second year of the project, the project team will be working with community members in the six focus neighborhoods (Bayview-Hunters Point, Chinatown, Potrero Hill, Tenderloin, Visitacion Valley, and Western Addition) to develop a conceptual street design for a few segments of the network. Click here to view the map of the focus neighborhoods. Materials from community workshops will be posted below as the information is available.

The Green Connections project team has developed a streetscape design to improve walking and biking on Oakdale Avenue between Joseph Lee Recreation Center and the Southeast Community Facility. The design builds on the Bayview Hunters Point Community Revitalization Concept Plan.
The City has dedicated $300,000 to pedestrian and bike improvements on Oakdale through the 2011 Road Repaving and Street Safety Bond, and is pursuing additional grant funds. The Planning Department and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency would like to hear from you on how to prioritize the use of this funding on Oakdale Ave. We want to understand your priorities for this street.
Join us for an open house. Stop by for a few minutes. We want to hear from you!

Pedestrians, bicyclists, and wild critters are all demanding their own ways to cross the city. San Francisco's "Green Connections" project seeks to integrate these new visions into San Francisco's urban grid. Join Andy Thornley (SF Bike Coalition), Peter Brastow (Nature in the City), Elizabeth Stampe (Walk San Francisco), and the SF Planning Dept.'s Kearstin Dischinger to critically evaluate these competing and complementary visions of a reconfigured San Francisco.
